The Chinese Panda Gold Coin is regarded as one of the most celebrated premium bullion coins, which feature the design of the cuddly and lovable Chinese pandas.
The designs though are changed every year from the year 2000. Each of the designs is a variation of different panda types and activities. The unique designs include a parent panda and its cub while they chomp on some bamboo leaves.
These Chinese Gold Coins were first issued and released during the year 1982 and it was assigned as a limited edition gold bullion coin. There are four different sizes for the Chinese Panda Gold Coins: 1/10 ounce, ¼ ounce, ½ ounce and 1 troy ounce gross weights.
However in the year 1983, the Chinese Mint elaborated the lineup and added 1/20-ounce series. And as years went by, the Chinese Panda coin was again added with the 5 ounces and 10 ounces series specifically during the year 1986. Though humongous in size, the 5- and 10-ounces have been introduced in the world market since then.
The Chinese Gold Coins Panda edition is 0.9999 pure and they are usually used for jewelry mountings in China. These collector’s items were banned from ownership in China during the year 2004 for abuse purposes. However, investing on these coins was resumed after 2004. These coins are not for regular circulation in currency.
