Authorized by the Bullion Coin Act of 1985, American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins have quickly become one of the leading gold bullion investment coins. Produced from gold mined in the United States and minted to exacting standards, the obverse design is inspired by what's often considered one of America's most beautiful coins: Augustus Saint-Gaudens' celebrated $20 gold piece, minted from 1907-1933. The reverse features a nest of American Eagles, symbolizing family tradition and unity.

Like their gold counterparts, American Eagle Silver Coins have been produced and sold in both proof and bullion finishes since 1986. They have always featured a rendition of sculptor Adolph A. Weinman's magnificent Walking Liberty design, originally prepared and executed for the Nation’s first circulating half-dollar coin in 1916.
The actual weight of the coin is guaranteed by the United States government in unit of troy ounces. Sources for the production of this coin is exclusive only from makers in the United States and should meet a combination of gold, alloy and sometimes silver to yield a 0.9167 resistance or 22-karat gold in nature.
The quality and content of the American Gold Eagle Bullion coin is confirmed by the United States Congress and followed up by the United States Mint for further corrections and inspection of the produced coins. The American Gold Eagle Bullion versions are 1/10, ¼, ½ and 1 troy ounces. Each of the four versions or models carries the same contents of gold, silver and copper respectively.
